Did This Copywriter Stop Writing? 5 Quick Bits of News…

My son Jonah and his mom celebrate the same birthday in January. Happens every year.

I received the following email from a reader yesterday…

“I haven’t heard anything from you in weeks. Did you go off the air? Or did my spam catcher block your e-mails. Please  let me know if you are still writing.”

Here’s Why I’ve Been
Out of Touch…

1. Jonah Turned Two! It was my son’s second birthday last month. He’s talkin’, walkin’ and jumpin’. Being a father is a full time job all by itself. If you’re a parent, ‘nough said. If you’re not, then there’s nothing I can say that can give you any idea….

2. Being Paid to Think and Write: Two retainer projects with copywriting clients keep my office schedule packed. I’ve been doing a lot of strategic planning, as well as writing and editing copy at various stages within a team environment.

3. Ascension of a Copywriter! I’m starting an information business with Dr. Carolyn Dean selling courses and programs in natural health. Dr. Dean’s both a medical doctor and a naturopath, originally from the wintry East Coast of Canada, currently living in perpetually warm and sunny Hawaii. She’s the best selling author of IBS for Dummies, The Magnesium Miracle and The Yeast Connection. No more freelance life for me!

4. Selling REALITYcopywriting: I’m finally selling REALITYcopywriting this month. Those who’ve been subscribers for a few years know I’ve intended to sell it for a long while. I’ll still be writing a weekly post, but the crew will be taking the site to a new level. I expect you’ll be seeing more case studies from different copywriters, young and old. The new gang also plans to introduce some new copywriting resources — long awaited by people seeking a “no-hype” way to learn copywriting.

5. No Time For Five: I would be taxing the attention span of any ADHD readers by writing another paragraph. So the final and BIGGEST announcement about a new resource we’ve already added (hint: look at the menu bar above) to REALITYcopywriting will have to wait.

I’ll fill you in next post. Stay tuned.

Capture, captivate, convert, John C. A. Manley

P.S. And if you’d like to see what I’m working on with Dr. Carolyn Dean you can head over to www.DrCarolynDean.com. We’re starting with just a weekly blog post. When my retainer projects are done we’ll increase to a daily dose of inspiration. Please sign up and tell your friends, family and Twitter pals.

P.P.S. Leave any thoughts or questions about today’s e-column in the comment box below….

CONGRATULATIONS on your new gig John.

And you’re staying inf your favorite niche.

As the world economy dies of Keynesian economics, it’s great to read/hear some positive news.

So will you be moving someplace warm too?

    John,

Thanks for the update - glad to hear your about your partnership with Dr. Dean. Sounds like a good arrangement with more stable income.

Mexico’s always been appealing to visit (and maybe live), never considered Ecuador. Let us know when (and why) you make your decision.

I was wondering where you went!

Congrats on all the great new business opportunities. You should move to Texas, it’s close to Mexico and warm here too. We just moved further south in TX for the scenery and less ice/snow in winter :)
